Making a Successful New Zealand Golf Course, The Kinloch Club

Taupo, Kinloch (New Zealand) – May 7, 2017 (travelindex.com) – Without question the most significant reason the Jack Nicklaus designed 18-hole Signature Links golf course, The Kinloch Club, has seen a 50% increase in golfers in the past year, is due to the opening of the new uber luxe on-site Lodge at Kinloch. And with 18 x junior suites, one and two bedroom villas – the lodge bar and restaurant, spa, tennis courts and swimming pool opening early this summer – this all ensures golfers to Kinloch now have a full resort style experience.

The Jack Nicklaus designed, Kinloch Club  is often compared to the classic links courses in Scotland and Ireland. However, instead of traditional sea views this world-class championship Par 72 course is positioned between panoramic views of Lake Taupo, New Zealand’s largest fresh-water lake, and the natural beauty of rugged rural farmland. Ranked as New Zealand’s #1 golf course a select team of New Zealand Golf Professionals it is the only Jack Nicklaus designed course in New Zealand.

And commendation to Kinloch’s Golf Director and course PGA Pro, Mr Tom Long, who without question has provided stable leadership from the courses inception and with the owners’ support, a dedication to constant improvement of the course.

Tom Long said, “This past season we have re-sculpted three of our green complexes under the guidance of Nicklaus Design, have introduced a new set of tee’s which now gives the golfer four teeing options and have added prisms to all of our flagsticks for fast and accurate laser distances”.

With two high profile golf events taking place in New Zealand later in the year (The Asian Amateur Golf Championship and the LPGA Tour event), The Kinloch Club has chosen to delay the coring of greens until the end of April 2018 – meaning the greens will be in outstanding condition if you are planning a golfing trip to New Zealand later this year.
